Born 1962 in Culemborg

In the early eighties I started taking studio lessons with Gerard Vogelaar in Noordwijk where I lived at the time.

The painting fever really hit me, my house soon turned into a studio and painting became a permanent part of my daily routine. I worked with other artists on various projects, which resulted in several group exhibitions in Noordwijk and the surrounding area.

Furthermore, I developed myself as an autodidact.

I worked intensively together for a long time and shared my studio with artist friend Jancor Mertens, we had several exhibitions together, including one in the winter garden of Hotel Oranje in Noordwijk.

After traveling around for a few years with my then partner, I ended up in Het Gooi where I still live today. Due to the lack of studio space, I started a series of collages, with the same enthusiasm in which I painted. I also had some small exhibitions here in the area.

With a child on the way, it seemed to us that traveling and being an artist did not offer a good future for our little one. I studied graphics and worked as a designer for several years. The art disappeared a bit into the background due to a lack of time and space.

Now that my children are now young adults and I no longer have a full-time, hectic job, the painting blood is flowing through my veins again. It's like an indomitable urge to create something and I can do it because I have space and with my part-time job I can be a full-time artist
